Cobalium and Mega Kangama – Are the raids worth it?

In Pokémon GO, two new bosses have been available in the more difficult raid levels since November 16, 2023. Cobalium and Mega Kangama are now available – is it worth catching?

How long are the raids available? Both Mega Kangama and Kobalium will appear as raid bosses starting November 16th.

  • Cobalium will remain in the 5-man raids until November 23rd. It also has a raid hour on November 22nd.
  • Mega Kangama will remain in the Mega Raids until November 30th.
  • Can the monsters be shiny? Yes, both monsters can also be caught as Shiny. But you need a lot of luck for that.

But is it even worth catching the monsters? We both look at each other.

What can Mega Kangama do in Pokémon GO?

This is how strong Mega Kangama is: Unfortunately, Mega Kangama isn’t a particularly strong attacker. In the raids, you should rely on the best attackers in Pokémon GO. And Kangama’s normal form doesn’t play a big role in raids or in the PvP battle leagues.

You can find some of the best attackers here in the video:

But there is a good argument for completing the raid anyway: namely the rarity. Kangama is a regional Pokémon and can usually only be found in Australia.

The mega raid gives you the opportunity to catch a specimen here too. This allows you to supplement your Kanto Pokédex with a Pokémon that is usually very difficult to obtain if you are still missing it.

If you then want to develop the mega form, you need 200 mega energies for Kangama, which you get from the mega raids.

In order to defeat Mega Kangama, you should have at least two people in the raid and have strong counterattacks. You can find the best counterattacks against Mega Kangama here.

What can Cobalium do in Pokémon GO?

How strong is cobalium? Cobalium has the type combination Steel/Fighting and, together with Terrakium, Viridium and Keldeo, is one of the “Knights of Honesty”.

There are better Pokémon in the raids that you should bet on. But in the Fighting League, Cobalion is a very strong option. In the Hyper League, PvPoke even lists it as the 4th best Pokémon.

In the league, it’s best to use the combination of double kick, sancto blade and stone edge to defeat your opponents.

If you want to defeat Cobalium in raids, you will find the best counters against Cobalium here. It can be beaten by two people, but be prepared for a tough fight. It’s better if you compete with three trainers.
