Coach profile Bengt “BA” Strömberg dead – he was 70 years old

Football coach Bengt Arne “BA” Strömberg is dead.
During his active career, the Gothenburger was active in Gais, Elfsborg and IFK Norrköping, among others.
He was 70 years old.

Bengt Arne Strömberg led Gais to the Allsvenskan qualifier in 1995, but the club did not manage to emerge victorious from the double encounter with Norrköping.

A few years later, “BA” was successful with Elfsborg, which he led to fifth place in the Allsvenskan in 2000. The following year, he won the Swedish Cup with the club. It was Elfsborg’s first title in 40 years.

Strömberg was then for a short time the head coach of IFK Norrköping in 2002. After his coaching career, he settled down and worked as a truck driver, writes Göteborgs-Posten.

Elfsborg’s club manager Stefan Andreasson was playing sports manager during Strömberg’s time at the club.
– I was taken when I heard that. BA was a kind, humble and nice person with an easy laugh.
– We have a lot to thank him for. He did fantastically well with us. You are taken now, but I choose to remember the good, that he led us to our first title in 40 years, says Andreasson to GP.

Rest in peace, BA! 🌹
