The action MMORPG Wayfinder suffered from a disastrous early access launch on Steam. Due to technical problems, many players left the game right at the beginning. A big update should now bring them back.
What is Wayfinder?
The disastrous launch gave the game a bad reputation from the start. Some players would not return until the title switches to a free-2-play model. Wayfinder is scheduled to become free at the beginning of 2024. Currently, players must purchase a package to play.

Wayfinder loses players, now attracts with a big update
What about Wayfinder now? Recently there have been an average of 255 players on Steam who are giving the game another chance (via steamcharts.com). At the start there were around 25,000 players.
Despite the title losing over 99% of its players, the Airship Syndicate development team is working on a new patch. The game’s biggest update to date will follow in December, bringing around 2,000 changes (via X).
The changes include:
The team gradually presents the content in more detail. So far, for example, fully customizable weapon colors and two new Wayfinder color slots have been introduced. In addition, the attack speed of sword & shield and scythes should be increased.
The development team even went to the trouble of reworking all ranged weapons. Wayfinder plans to introduce further innovations from the patch in the coming days.
When will the update appear? An exact release date has not yet been set. Since the update is called “December Update v.02,” it can be assumed that the patch will be released sometime next month.
