Israel’s domination of the Gaza Strip has continued for months. Israel, which does not face any concrete reaction on a global scale, adds a new one to its massacres every day. The information given by an Israeli soldier and five previously detained Palestinians to CNN television about Israel’s “Mosquito protocol” was chilling.
THEY WERE USED AS LIVE BOMBS AGAINST BOUBY TRAPS AND EXPLOSIVES
Stating that using Palestinians as shields against booby traps and hidden explosives in buildings and tunnels is a common practice among Israeli troops in Gaza, the soldier said, “We tell them to enter the building before us. “If there is a trap, they will explode, not us,” he said.
The Israeli soldier stated that during his duty in Gaza, a senior security officer brought two detained Palestinians, aged 16 and 20, and asked the soldiers to use them as human shields before entering the buildings.
Stating that the commanders told them “not to think about international law”, the soldier said, “It is better for the Palestinians to explode, not our soldiers.” He noted that they used the expression.
“THEY USUALLY DRESSED THEM IN MILITARY UNIFORMS”
20-year-old Mohammad Saad, one of the Palestinians that CNN spoke to and who was used as a human shield by Israeli soldiers, said that he was detained by the Israeli army while looking for food for his family in Rafah, and that he was used as a shield in order not to put Israeli soldiers at risk in the military camp where he was held for 47 days.
Saad said, “They made us wear military uniforms. “They put a camera on us and asked us to search empty buildings, houses and rooms.” he said.
Stating that Israeli soldiers were very afraid of hidden explosives in buildings, Saad said, “They usually made me wear military uniform, but for the last mission they took me in civilian clothes. At one point they told me that I should film a tank left behind by the Israeli army. “I was terrified and scared, so they hit me on the back with the butt of the rifle.” he said.
Saad said that later, as he approached the tank, he was shot from behind and shot in the back, but he survived with injuries.
THEY KILLED 17-YEAR-OLD SHBEIR’S FATHER AND SISTER AND TAKEN THEM AS POWERS.
17-year-old Palestinian Mohammad Shbeir also said that Israeli soldiers killed his father and sister and took him captive during the raid on their house in Khan Younis.
“They used me as a human shield. They took me to destroyed houses, dangerous buildings or places that could be mines,” Shbeir said. he said.
CNN wrote that upon these allegations, it contacted the organization called “Breaking the Silence”, which provides a platform for Israeli soldiers to speak, and they were provided with photographs confirming the testimonies of Israeli soldiers and Palestinians about the Israeli army using Palestinians as human shields in Gaza.
In the statement made to CNN by the Israeli army, it was claimed that “the use of detained Palestinian civilians for military operations is strictly prohibited and this is routinely explained to the soldiers in the field during the conflict with relevant protocols and instructions.”
International law prohibits the use of civilians as shields against military activities or their forcible involvement in military operations. Israel has long criticized Hamas for using civilians in Gaza as human shields.
