CME, record in January for average daily volume of contracts

European quarterly reports BofA monetary tightening and decline in US

(Finance) – CME Groupthe world’s leading derivatives marketplace, recorded a new record for what concern average daily volume (ADV) of contracts in the month of January 2024, reaching 25.2 million, up 16% compared to January 2023.

The ADV sui interest rates rose 27%, driven by Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) and Treasury instruments. The ADV of options increased by 26%, that of energy by 23% (in particular, with a record ADV on options in the Natural gas with 300,736 contracts).
