Club icon Christer Abris now says what he really thinks about today’s Leksand: “Too much handbag”

He is one of the most popular profiles within Leksand.
Now club icon Christer Abris gives his view on the favorite team.
– We are a bit of a handbag if you say so, he admits to Avesta Tidning.

Leksand now have four straight without a win at the start of the SHL season. With that form, the team slips in twelfth place in the table after 13 recorded points in the first 12 games.

Abris was celebrated

This weekend were both club profiles and brothers Christer Abrahamsson and Tommy Abrahamsson on site to be celebrated in connection with the SHL match against Växjö Lakers. The brothers together won four golds in six years at Leksand and the quote machine Christer Abris also managed to lead the Dala team to their last SC final in 1989 as a coach.

But the Abrahamsson brothers had to see another loss for their dear Leksand. Now “Abris” admits what he really thinks about the favorite team today.
– We are a bit of a handbag if you say so, says 76-year-old Christer in an interview with Avesta Tidning.

His view of Leksand

Now one is really curious as to whether this game was allowed during the brothers Abri’s time at Leksand.
– Allowed… you have no conclusion on that or not. But hockey is many aspects. The body will begin to be used. It has to pop, then it doesn’t have to be ugly for it. The backs have to feed, the whole team has to fill up. It is a golden rule for all teams, says the club icon in the interview.
– But we are a bit kind. Use the body, don’t let them in. They should not be allowed to be in front of the goal and in the shooting sector. Without detracting from Leksand, there are many teams that are good, but we can do it too.

Despite the tough start to the season, Abris does not seem too harsh and critical in his analysis of the team. Nor is he clamoring for new acquisitions to reverse the sad trend.
– There isn’t much to choose from as far as I understand, but they certainly have their eyes out and check here and there. Then it’s hard to say exactly what you should have. Should it be a back, offensive, defensive? A forward? What is it you want? But the juniors are doing well, I think. More ice time for them.
