A study shows that almost half of all mobile phones in hospital environments were contaminated with the coronavirus, Vetenskapsradion reports.
Bond University has reviewed 15 studies examining hospital environments in ten countries, including China, France, Saudi Arabia and the United States, in the years 2020 to 2023.
231 out of 511 mobile phones tested positive for covid-19. In two surveys, all mobiles tested positive.
Most infectious diseases are transmitted through hand contact. Previous research has shown that the coronavirus can remain contagious on surfaces – such as mobile phones – for several days.
