According to a survey by the research company Acta Publica, 289 people who are candidates for the autumn’s various elections for one of the parties in the Riksdag have expressed Nazism or racism. By far the most candidates, 214 people, are on the Sweden Democrats’ lists. The Social Democrats have 22 names and the Moderates and Christian Democrats have 20 candidates each. The candidates in question have, among other things, been members of Nazi organizations, been convicted of incitement against a ethnic group, ordered Nazi propaganda, had accounts on the far-right forum Nordisk.nu or written hate comments on a Nazi site. During the work, Acta Publica has identified all persons who are on the Riksdag parties’ lists in the municipal region and the Riksdag election in 2022, and then checked them against the research company’s databases of criminal cases. Materials from police reports, preliminary investigations and secret intelligence information about criminal organization have also formed the basis of the mapping, as well as the Foundation’s verdict and preliminary investigation archive.
