Climbing Frenchwoman Oriane Bertone qualified for the 2024 Olympics

French climber Oriane Bertone validated her ticket for the 2024 Olympics by winning the European climbing qualifying tournament this Sunday, October 29 in Laval. First in the bouldering and third in the difficulty test, Bertone, 18, largely dominated the final with a total of 171.9 points, ahead of the Serbian Stasa Gejo (148.5 points) and the Italian Laura Rogora (145 .7 points). “It’s not like I wasn’t expecting it, because I was in good shape in qualifying and in the semis, and I was hopeful. The block went very well, with just one missed attempt, 99.9 pts (out of 100 possible) was incredible. I was able to approach the difficulty by being calm and fluid in my head,” Bertone reacted after the final. Only first place in this tournament offered direct qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
