In Holland, climate protesters have delayed the arrival of a cruise ship at the port of Amsterdam for hours, say the port authorities.

Behind the protest is the international environmental movement Extinction Rebellion, known in Finland as Elokapina.

Due to the activists who locked themselves in the two lock gates, the Serenade of the Seas cruise ship and the oil tanker were prevented from entering the port for a long time.

A week ago, 2,000 cruise passengers were transferred by bus because of a similar protest, says Dutch public radio NOS.

Updated on 18.8. at 21:57 the cruise ship’s entry into the port was delayed by hours.
