Climate Minister: No to agreement on energy with S

Jacob Wallenberg and Jan-Olof Jacke, chairman and CEO of Svenskt Näringsliv, appealed this weekend to politicians to come together and solve the issue of Sweden’s electricity. In order to dare to invest, the business community wants to see a “crystal clear joint message about the future of nuclear power and wind power”, wrote the business leaders in a debate article in DN.

But climate minister Romina Pourmokhtari does not want an energy agreement.

– No. We cannot slow down our work because we need to sit in a room and discuss with Magdalena Andersson what the Social Democrats really think about nuclear power, says Pourmokhtari for 30 minutes.

The climate minister believes that the government has tried to talk to the opposition, but that it has not ended well.

– It has been met with a cold hand. The government has held dialogue with the opposition on several occasions, held talks and extended a hand to Magdalena Andersson. But you want to have discussions on their terms and on their level.

So the answer to Wallenberg and Jacke is that there will be no joint announcement about nuclear power and wind power?

– The answer to them is that this government does not intend to slow down the work to wait for a confused opposition where everyone thinks differently, but we will continue to work with investigations, with legislative proposals and with everything we can do to promote new nuclear power in Sweden .
