Sweden is not on the list of speakers at the Climate Ambition Summit in New York.

UN chief António Guterres has said that only leaders of countries that have ambitious plans to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions will be allowed to participate in discussions during Wednesday’s meeting.

About 40 representatives of countries, cities, states, companies and organizations are on the speaker list. The EU is included, but also individual member states such as Denmark, Iceland and France. However, large emission countries such as China and the USA are not included. Britain as a whole is also not to speak, but London Mayor Sadiq Khan is to.

It is unclear whether Sweden has registered an interest in participating in the climate meeting.
