It was September 3, 2022… Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, announced an energy sobriety plan. Objective: to reduce the gas and electricity bill, as requested by the government to deal with soaring energy prices. Objective also: to fight against climate change since our use of fossil fuels, gas, oil and coal, is the main source of greenhouse gas emissions, and therefore of global warming. But this emergency plan will not be enough.
In an overheated world, the French capital, like all the cities of the globe, will also have to transform itself to remain livable in the future.
