A person linked to the climate activist network Extinction Rebellion got a job as a gas coordinator at the Swedish Energy Agency, a job that is security classified by Säpo. This is reported by the newspaper Fokus.

In his job, the gas coordinator has extensive knowledge and insight into Sweden’s gas-dependent businesses.

Despite the employee’s involvement in the Extinction Rebellion group being open on her Facebook page, according to Fokus, she was still able to get the job. The group has gained notoriety by gluing themselves to highways, bridges and airports to get their anti-fossil message across.

– If the gas coordinator hangs out with people who are interested in sabotaging infrastructure, this will be a huge risk for the security of the kingdom and also for other countries, says the former gas coordinator Gustav Boëthius to Fokus.

One who reacted to the news is Sweden’s Minister for Civil Defence, Carl-Oskar Bohlin.

“This kind of thing simply shouldn’t happen,” he writes on X.

The minister also writes that he had a “good conversation” with the Energy Agency’s director general about the incident.
