When the Czech Republic-Switzerland, earlier on Sunday, went to extra time (Swiss victory), it means that neither team can pass Tre Kronor.
Switzerland finished on five points, the same as Tre Kronor has before the fight against Finland, but head-to-head meetings decide in Sweden’s favor.
The Czech Republic finished with four points, while Finland has one point before the Three Kronor match, so the Finns cannot pass Three Kronor either.
This is the second year in a row that Tre Kronor has won the Karjala tournament and for new national team captain Sam Hallam it was a taste of the new job.
