When SVT visits the motor meet, the sun is shining and the visitor area next to the beach in Haparanda is well filled with cars of all kinds.
The Gustafsson family has traveled to Haparanda from Kiruna – a tradition that has continued since 2013. Manne Gustafsson, 10 years old, is tagged along for the meeting.
– The best thing is to smell the petrol and hear the sounds of the engine, he says.
A thousand cars on the beach
During the weekend, approximately 1,000 cars and 8,000 visitors are expected.
– The turnout is fantastic! During Saturday, it’s going really well and the weather gods seem to be with us, says Kåre Mogemark, organizer and chairman of the Classic motor meet.
The meeting is arranged in collaboration with Wheels magazine and Classic motor.
Visitors from far and wide
– Of course there are people from all over Sweden. Then we have visitors from Finland, Norway, Germany… We reach out a lot, says Kåre Mogemark.
