This announcement comes at a time when according to information from the Congolese Minister of Defense, the M23 and Rwandan troops are strengthening. Indeed, Jean-Pierre Bemba, during the Council of Ministers last Friday, informed the government that new personnel and new weapons from Rwanda would be being transported, in particular through the Virunga national park.

As a result of its fighting, the populations of the affected localities continue to flee in part towards the displaced persons camps in Goma where nearly a million people are already crowded.
