Civitanavi Systems launches new inertial measurement system with Honeywell

(Finance) – Honeywell And Civitanavi Systems have launched a new inertial measurement system (IMU) for the international market in the industrial and defense sectors. The HG2800 family are tactical-grade, low-noise, high-performance, low-power inertial measurement systems designed for precision applications in short-duration stabilization and navigation solutions in industry and military aircraft among other applications.

THE inertial measurement systems (IMU) they were developed to meet the needs of a wide range of driving and control applications. They meet the needs of customers who require high bandwidth, low data latency and low noise. Additionally, they enable quiet operation for acoustically sensitive systems. Technology responds to needs
typically associated with surveillance, precision applications and imaging.

Applications include unmanned vehicle detection, radar antenna stabilization, underwater autonomous vessels, and sensitive camera systems requiring both visible and infrared sensors.

At just 32 cubic inches, the new HG2800 can detect linear acceleration and angular velocity to stabilize camera images in electro-optical surveillance (EO/IR) systems.

The inertial measurement units use technologies from Honeywell and Civitanavi Systems and contribute to improved pointing capabilities and stabilization accuracy, as well as improving measurement precision and reliability of operation when GPS is not available. The HG2800 also features a flexible power supply that simplifies system integration and consumes less power than previous solutions.
