Civilization 7 ends in one of the most important people in young history, has apparently already planned the first DLC

The big 4x strategy game Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 will soon be released and will be different in many places than its predecessors. We now know what time you can play your campaigns – and roughly how it goes on afterwards.

We know that about the game:

When does CIV 7 end? The modern age is the last era that you can play in Civilization 7. In a live stream, the developers explain exactly how this will work (via YouTube).

Modernity begins in CIV 7 around 1750, when monarchies are being contested more and more and the revolutions in America and France begin. Napoleon is an important figure here.

The last big event in which CIV 7 is located will then be the cold war, i.e. the dramatic arms race between the USA and Soviet Union after World War II. A concrete year is missing, but the latest, known victory condition is the first manned flight to space, which was carried out in our world of Yuri Gagarin in 1961.

The Cold War was one of the most important dies of modern times and has put a lot of research, civil and military, advanced or the foundations for it, for example:

  • Space and rocket technology
  • Computer and information technology
  • electronics
  • Aircraft construction
  • Atomic, biological and chemical weapons

CIV 7 has no information age “Zum launch”, but that still comes

In the stream, Creative Director Ed Beach explains that the age should be large blocks, with a “large, climate -tale conflict.” The possible research in the third age should reflect this.

Beach explains that the story of course continued after the Cold War, but “this is something that you will not see in Civ 7 for the launch.” But “at the right time” you want to say more about what comes afterwards.

This indicates that Firaxis, the developers of CIV 7, have already planned the first DLC or the first major update. However, we do not yet know whether this only extends from the 1960s or will even have futuristic bonds.

Civilization 7 will be released on February 11, 2025 for the PC, Mac and Linux. In the meantime, if you don’t want to wait that long or are too impatient, you will find other games with which you can shorten the waiting time: If you are waiting for Civilization 7, you can get an ingenious alternative on Steam for € 20 – I have already Played 264 hours
