A 31-year-old Brantford man is facing numerous charges after police seized a loaded firearm and more than $41,000 worth of drugs from city home.
The Brantford Police Service High Enforcement Action Team launched a trafficking investigation on Tuesday regarding a man who was allegedly selling methamphetamine and fentanyl from a Dunsdon Street residence.
On Wednesday at about 5:45 am, members of the Brantford Police Services Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant. The K-9 Unit, Ident Unit and uniform patrol provided assistance.
Police say the suspect was found in the residence and arrested without incident.
Police say they seized:
- About 100.8 grams of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $40,300.
- About 3.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $740.
- A loaded 12-gauge shotgun
- Ammunition
- A pellet gun
- Drug paraphernalia
- Canadian currency
The accused is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking; careless storage of a firearm; possession of weapon; possession of firearms; possession of ammunition; and failure to comply with judicial release.
The accused was held for bail.
