City Grosss unexpected decisions are praised by customers

December 31 was the last day of 2024, something that many celebrated. New Year’s Eve is an evening of festivities, which for many means good food, good company and partying.

Those who really want to celebrate the new year usually also shoot off the occasional New Year’s rocket or watch fireworks when the clock strikes 00:00 and the new year begins.

But in recent years, New Year’s rockets have become an increasingly big issue. Many believe that they should be banned completely, because they scare so many animals. While others consider them part of the festivities and a must-have on New Year’s Eve.

– People prioritize dogs as a family member. Then you do everything you can to help them when it hits, says Roro Wirlander Beydoun, store manager at Apotek Hjärtat in Örebro to SVT News.

They get to shoot New Year’s rockets

To buy and shoot New Year’s rockets in Sweden, you must be 18 years old. The reason behind the age limit is that it is primarily people under the age of 18 who injure themselves.

– There is a strict age limit. A parent cannot therefore “buy out” fireworks for their children and let them shoot, says Rolf Weinander, case manager at the Authority for social protection and preparedness to Today’s News.
