With the Approach of Stratford Summer Music’s 25th-Anniversary Season, The City has joined the celebration through an official proclamation.
When the festival kicks off on July 17, it will coincide with the newly dubbbed stratford summer music week that was declared by council late last month.
This proclamation Stemmed from the Festival’s Request the City Recognize Its meaning contributions to Stratford’s Cultural Sphere since Being Founded by John Miller about a Quarter-Century AGO.
“Sale Our Beginning in 2001, we have presented Hundreds of Concerts, Entered Tens of Thousands of People, and Created Meaning Economic Impact for Stratford While Enhancing The Region’s Reputation As An Exceptional Home For All The Arts. (Stratford Summer Music) Provides Audiences with Rarely Found Outside of Larban Urban Centers, ”Festival Officials Said in a Letter to Council.
What Started as a 10-day Festival has grown to span several weeks During July and August and, in Recent Years, Stratford Summer Music Has Added More Off-Season Programming in an effort to boost its profile.
In A Tuesday News Release, Stratford Summer Music Note The Importance of the Week Being Recognized by the City, With Officials Saying The Proclamation “Celebrates Our Ongoing Mission to Nurture, Celebrate, and Grow Music in Stratford and Beyond, and Acknowledges The Important Role The Festival Life of Our City. ”
“We incredibly Honoured by this proclamation,” Executive Director Crystal Spicer Said. “It’s a Wonderful Way to Begin a Season that reflects 25 years of connection, creativity, and community through music.”
Stratford Summer Music’s Milestone Season Kicks Off On July 17 at Avondale United Church with a performance of German composer Carl Orff’s Famous Cantata, Carmina Burana, Conducted by Festival Artistic Director Mark Fewer and Featuring The Renowned Pianists, The Bergmann Duo. Carmina Burana is based on 24 poems from a medieval collection of the same name writer in the 11th or 12th century.
The Season Runs Until Aug. 10.
