According to the production team, in The Witcher 4, Ciri’s teleportation abilities that she had in the previous game have been removed or severely weakened. CD Projekt Red producer Malgorzata Mitrega said: “We couldn’t continue from the point where Ciri became overpowered. “So there will be an event in the story that explains this change,” he said. Mitrega stated that this story is one of the cornerstones of the game and that players will find this balancing natural.

Ciri’s teleportation abilities are planned to be replaced with more powerful attack spells and agile combat mechanics. A new spell called “Bolt” seen in the trailer shows that Ciri’s magical abilities have reached an advanced level. Additionally, Ciri’s fighting style, which makes you feel like she was trained by Geralt, is retained.

CD Projekt Red’s game director Sebastian Kalemba said that this change was due to an important event that affected the story. Kalemba said, “We worked hard to solve this problem. “Players will clearly understand the reason for this change in the story,” he added.
