(Finance) – The Group Iren will be present at Ecoworld, the international reference event for all actors in the ecological transition ecosystem, which will take place from 7 to 10 November at the Rimini Exhibition Centre. A key appointment for the Group, which has included the ecological transition among the pillars on which its 2030 Business Plan is based: a long-term vision, for which Iren is committed to the progressive decarbonisation of all activities and the strengthening of leadership in the circular economy and in the sustainable use of resources.
Objectives to be achieved thanks to the continuous increase in separate waste collection, the transfer of the Group’s best practices to the newly acquired areas, the investment in automation and digitalisation and the development of new systems in the material recovery chain. Precisely to enhance the commitment in this sector, Iren has planned some round tablesthink about it meeting point with all stakeholdersr who will participate in a key event to define the stages of the development path of the environmental policy of the entire European Union.
In particular, among the topics on which the presence of the Iren Group will focus is that of critical raw materialsand, have become one of the most urgent and complex issues in the global economic landscape. The need to reconcile the demand for these materials with the aim of reducing the environmental impact represents a crucial challenge: Iren intends to address it starting from a circular economy model, which applied to raw materials can become a fundamental lever for reducing Italian dependence from foreign markets, promoting a more sustainable model also from an environmental point of view.
“The Iren Group has the ambition of being a leader at a national level in the circular economy”, declared the President of the Iren Group, Luca Dal Fabbro. “It is a path that we are implementing and that we have outlined in the 2030 Industrial Plan, which will accompany the company in the future based on three main pillars: energy transition, territoriality and quality of services. In this ambitious plan, the circular economy represents one of the main drivers, with a particular focus on the recovery of material from strategic supply chains such as WEEE, waste electrical and electronic equipment, which can represent a mine for the supply of critical raw materials”.
Among the main events, we highlight the panel “Critical raw materials and circular economy: new strategic supply chains for the country system”, which will take place on Tuesday 7th at 3.30 pm in the presence of the President of the Iren Group, Luca Dal Fabbro. The following day, Wednesday 8 November at 11 am, the panel “Circular Wood, Iren’s innovation for the recovery of wood” will take place, focusing on the plant inaugurated this year in Vercelli, with Eugenio Bertolini, CEO of Iren Environment. Finally, on Thursday 9 November at 11am, the panel “Iren Group: supply chains and technologies for secondary raw materials” will take place, with Roberto Conte, CEO of I.Blu.
