The film phenomenon Barbie is banned from screens in several countries – Lebanon, Kuwait, Algeria – because it is considered “shocking” or even “promoting homosexuality or sex change” by some states. But in Egypt, while rumors swirled on social networks of a possible censorship of the film, it was finally screened in several cinemas in Cairo.
