Utrecht – About three quarters of cigarette butts are thrown on the street after smoking and eventually end up in the environment. This causes considerable damage, reports the Utrecht Trimbos Institute. Today, on World No Smoking Day, the institute presents a fact sheet on the environmental damage caused by butt waste.
