(Finance) – “The National Telematic Registry it is the only tool that can guarantee transparency and keep the consistency of the data under control cereal stocks, also with the aim of placing useful information on the market to reduce price volatility”, stated the President of CIA-Italian Farmers, Cristiano Fini, asking for the reintroduction of the Granary Italy in the Agriculture Legislative Decree currently under discussion.
Granary Italy represents recognition of the value of the sector and is an indispensable tool for protection of cereals produced in Italy. Granaio Italia’s goal is traceability of Italian grains, in all the different steps, especially when it comes to products imported from abroad. This has always been one of the priorities for Cia which has also collected and delivered to the institutions 75 thousand signatures with a petition to save the national wheatas well as having organized a mobilization on 26 October in Rome to put a concrete stop to the crisis in the sector, between skyrocketing production costs and high prices.
Cia hopes that the Government and Parliament will want to launch the Telematic Registry and all Granaio Italia measures as soon as possible, giving clear answers to Italian wheat producers, at a time when profitability is not guaranteed and sowing is decreasing.
