We’ve known for a month: Christopher Nolan has started working on his new film. Most recently, the director and screenwriter brought the three-hour Oscar triumph Oppenheimer to the big screen. Now he is positioning his next project, the plot of which is being rumored.
Is it a historical-themed vampire horror film or a sci-fi action thriller based on the 1980s classic The Flying Eye? Officially, there is no concrete information about the film’s story yet. The cast is taking more and more shape. Now two new stars of distinction are known.
Zendaya and Anne Hathaway are joining the cast of Christopher Nolan’s new film
Zendaya and Anne Hathaway are starring in Christopher Nolan’s new film, Deadline has learned from its sources. Hathaway has worked with the filmmaker twice before. The first time was in 2012 with The Dark Knight Rises and the second time was in Interstellar, which was released two years later.
For Zendaya, the upcoming film marks the first joint project directed by Nolan. We can look forward to a special reunion: Zendaya will be in front of the camera together with Tom Holland. Not only are the two a couple in real life. Together they were as Peter Parker and MJ seen in the three Spider-Man films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
2025 will be an eventful year for Zendaya and Holland. Filming for the new Nolan is scheduled to start at the beginning of the year. Then we continue with Spider-Man 4 before the first release on Avengers 5: Doomsday. That’s three huge blockbuster projects back to back. They will all be in cinemas in summer 2026.

Aside from the casting of Zendaya and Hathaway, the Deadline report has an interesting statement about the film’s plot. Based on the sources of the industry magazine all previous descriptions of the film are incorrect. So no vampire horror and no sci-fi action thriller with helicopters.
The new Nolan’s script may be one of the best-kept secrets in Hollywood, which is why we should treat any plot summaries with a grain of salt unless they come from someone associated with the project. This secrecy will probably stay with us for a while.
