Shot indiscriminately from a car • Eligible for parole in 2120
For eleven hours, the trio fired indiscriminately around from a car.
One person died and several were injured, including a police officer.
Now 32-year-old Christopher McDonnell is sentenced to at least 100 years in prison, reports AP.
On November 26, 2020, in the midst of the American Thanksgiving celebration, a trio of killers took over the streets of the southwestern United States.
For eleven hours, Christopher McDonnell, his brother Shawn McDonnell, and the brother’s then-wife Kayleigh Lewis drove around in a car shooting at people – completely at random.
One of the shots struck and killed 22-year-old Kevin Mendiola Jr. at a convenience store in Henderson outside of Las Vegas. In the same area, they carried out a drive-by shooting and several people were injured.
The trio then drove to Arizona, where they continued their reckless shooting spree, including at a police officer.
Sentenced to 100 years in prison
According to the prosecutor, it was Kayleigh Lewis who drove the car while the two brothers recklessly shot out of the car’s window.
The crazy ride ended near the city of Parker, Arizona. There, the police started chasing the car, which eventually crashed and overturned. In connection with that, Shawn McDonnell was shot by police.
32-year-old Christopher McDonnell is now sentenced to 100 years in prison for over 20 crimes in connection with the shooting tour, including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and aggravated weapons offences. Only in 2120 would he be eligible for parole.
Shawn McDonnell and Kayleigh Lewis are also convicted of a dozen crimes.
