Like every start of the month, December 1 will be the starting point for new measures. Here’s what’s about to change.
On December 1, 2024, several new measures are announced… and they directly concern your wallet.
Payment of the Christmas bonus on December 17
The system renewed this year will be paid to the most modest people on December 17, and not on the 13th as before. Some 2.3 million households will receive this bonus just before the holidays. To benefit from it, you must be covered by social minimums, such as active solidarity income (RSA), specific solidarity allowance (ASS), retirement equivalent allowance (AER).
Retirees and beneficiaries of the Disabled Adult Allowance (AAH), however, are not affected.
However, the amounts remain unchanged from last year:
- Between 152.45 euros for a single person without children and 535.10 euros for a single person with 4 children (82.32 euros then per additional child);
- A couple without children will receive 228.68 euros;
- The premium will amount to 442.11 euros for a couple with 4 children (60.98 euros thereafter per additional child).
The consultation costs 30 euros at the general practitioner
From December 1, the consultation with the general practitioner will cost 30 euros, compared to the current 26.50 euros.
- For children under 6 years old, the visit will increase from 31.5 to 35 euros.
- Among specialists, to see a psychiatrist or neurologist, it will now cost 55 euros, compared to 51.70 euros until then.
- At the gynecologist, the consultation will increase from 33.50 to 37 euros (reaching 40 euros in July 2025).
- Teleconsultations remain at a price of 25 euros.
An increase decided as part of a draft agreement finalized last May by Health Insurance and the unions of private doctors. Whatever your choice, however, you will always be reimbursed 70% of the consultation by Health Insurance and 30% by complementary health insurance.
Great start for Parcoursup
Like every year, high school students must register their post-baccalaureate orientation wishes on the Parcoursup platform. It will be accessible on December 18 to initially consult the 23,000 post-baccalaureate offers. One month later, on January 15, the registration platform to express your wishes will be open. This year, for the first time, it will also be possible to have access to statistics on the profile of candidates admitted the previous year.
The gas rises again
If the price of kWh was falling in November, it is starting to rise again this month. According to the energy regulation commission, which publishes its price every month “landmark”, On December 1st, it will go from 135.90 euros/MWh including tax to 138.95 euros/MWh including tax. Subscription prices remain the same. This is the sixth increase in 2024.
