The tickets for the dance show “Christmas and fun” in Kungälv were sold like butter in the sunshine.
The reason?
Concert-hungry hip-hop fans thought the French rapper “Jul” would perform.
“This is not true,” the municipality writes on its website.
On Saturday, the cultural school in Kungälv organizes its annual dance finale at Mimer’s house. The event “Christmas and fun” includes, among other things, children’s dance, ballet and hip-hop, writes Kungälvs-Posten.
The newspaper reports that there has been a major error connected to the tickets for this year’s show.
– At the end of last week, there were several angry calls from parents who had not managed to get tickets to their child’s show. Then we began to sense that something was not right, says culture manager Matilda Skön.
“Don’t know how likely it feels”
Due to algorithms, the words “Christmas” and “hip-hop” have caused the event to spread on several external websites. There is a French hip-hop artist called “Jul”. The rapper has sold several million albums and since the tickets for “Jul och kul” only cost SEK 60, they sold out quickly.
– It’s completely senseless! I don’t really understand how it happened, but somewhere the smart AI algorithm must have picked up the words Christmas and hip-hop on Kungalv.se and considered it a credible site. Since then it has taken off…
Many external websites have removed the sale of tickets for the event.
– You can think about why the ticket buyers do not react to the place and time. A hip-hop concert with a huge French rapper at 11.30 a.m. on a Saturday morning in the cultural center in little Kungälv, I don’t know how likely it feels, says Matilda Skön to the newspaper.
