Chris Rock breaks silence after Will Smith slap Im not

Hardly anyone is talking about the films of the Oscars 2022 anymore. Another event, which took place that evening at the Dolby Theater, does not want to disappear from the discussions: the great Will Smith scandal. Just before the actor was awarded for King Richard, he slapped Chris Rock in the face.

Of the Reason for Smith’s freak out was a joke by the comedian, which came at the expense of his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s medical condition. Rock himself has barely commented on the event in recent months. After a long period of silence, he is now addressing the moment in public.

As US Weekly summarizes, Rock had this to say about the Oscar slap during a sand-up performance at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Anyone who says words can hurt you has never been slapped in the face. i am not a victim That hurt extremely, Mother******. But I let it bounce off me and went back to work the next day. I’m not going to the hospital just because I cut myself on paper.

For Smith, the incident already had its first consequences. With his Oscar freak, he ruined 30 years of career work. Although a short time later he died Best Actor Trophy in hand, it wasn’t long before many of his projects were postponed, halted, or canceled entirely.
