In addition to Tarantino, fellow director Martin Scorsese criticized Marvel. Both were sometimes violently attacked by Marvel stars for this. Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), for example, explained that the two should “not pointing her nose at me or anyone else.”
Every fan has to decide for themselves which side is right. However, it seems difficult to imagine that Chris Evans wanted to stab his Marvel colleagues in the back with his statement.
