New Jersey’s ex-governor Chris Christie is dropping out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
“It is clear to me tonight that there is no way for me to win the nomination, which is why I am suspending my campaign tonight to become President of the United States,” Christie told supporters at an event in Windham, New Hampshire, USA.
Chris Christie has been under intense pressure to drop out of the candidacy race, after critics of the overwhelming favorite Donald Trump pointed out the importance of uniting in common force against the former president.
As late as Tuesday night, Christie insisted he had no plans to give up.
