Chinook type military helicopter crashed in Canada: 2 dead, 2 injured

In a statement made by the Canadian Ministry of Defense, it was announced that the Chinook-type military helicopter of the Royal Canadian Air Force crashed into the Ottawa River near the military base in Petawawa, Ontario, during a training flight at around 00:10 local time.

STATEMENT FROM PRIME MINISTER TRUDEAU

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a statement that 2 soldiers in the helicopter lost their lives, while 2 soldiers survived the accident with injuries.

Trudeau said a thorough investigation into the accident would be conducted.
