Chinese take a cookie break in the middle of a crucial pro game – getting booed

The Mid-Season Invitationals are currently running in League of Legends, and bugs and errors can occur even in a pro tournament. Such a mistake also happened in BLG’s game against G2. But it wasn’t the error itself, but the resulting break that caused an uproar.

What happened? In the fourth match of the opponents the game paused at 6:40. The player ON from the Chinese team BLG asked for the break because he could not consume his biscuit in the game.

This is an item that appears in the inventory through the rune “Cookie Delivery” and restores life and mana when consumed.

The break was considered legitimate by the referees and was implemented. In order to be able to compensate for the error, a so-called “chrono break” was carried out twice. The game is flushed back to a point where the error has not yet occurred.

G2 fans feel disadvantaged by break

What was the problem with this break? Above all, the timing of the break. BLG’s jungler “XUN” was on the brink of death when the hiatus was initiated. Without the break, XUN would have definitely died. So the two chronobreaks denied G2 a kill.

This isn’t the first incident to stir up excitement at the MSI tournament, either, as a dispute between caster and pro also escalated through the tournament.

The half-hour break, in which the error was not corrected at all, did not improve the mood and caused displeasure among the viewers. G2 fans in particular were unhappy as they felt betrayed by the break.

Overwatch 2 fans are also disappointed because Blizzard canceled the PvE mode promised 4 years ago.

How did viewers react? The spectators were not at all happy about the seemingly pointless break and booed the Chinese team when the game was restarted. The fact that the break was classified as legitimate by the referees does not seem to have interested the fans on site.

Ultimately, Chinese team BLG defeated European team G2 3-1, knocking them out of the tournament.

A fate that affects all western teams, as the celebrated stars completely disappointed the fans at the MSI tournament.
