Chinese hackers made a major cyberattack on the US Treasury

China says there is no evidence of cyber attacks and says the allegations are a smear campaign against the US.

According to the US Treasury Department, Chinese hackers have been able to penetrate the workstations and unencrypted documents of the ministry’s employees.

According to the ministry, it is a “major cyber security incident”.

The hack was revealed on December 8. BeyondTrust, a software company used by the ministry, announced that hackers had obtained a key to a cloud service that is used to provide technical support to machine users.

The ministry does not comment on how many terminals the hackers had access to, and how important information they had obtained. The ministry is also investigating whether the hackers have succeeded in creating their own accounts or changing passwords, says British Broadcasting Corporation BBC.

China says there is no evidence of a cyber attack and that the US is waging a smear campaign.
