The German volleyball association DVV is in a quarrel with FIVB. Germany is now being punished and China has been declared the winner of the match with 3-0 in sets.
The Chinese men’s national team suffered 21 positive corona falls just days before the match against Germany was to be played. Among other things, China had to leave the walk over in the match against France when they could not line up with six healthy players.
China, on the other hand, was given the green light by the Philippine authorities and the FIVB to play the match, something that Germany refused without another PCR test.
“The FIVB rejected our repeated demands for a re-examination of our planned opponent. They constantly refer to local isolation rules and ensure that they are complied with. However, from our point of view, these minimum provisions are in no way sufficient to guarantee the necessary security in this case,” he wrote. German Federation on its website.
Germany’s biggest concerns were if some of their players were tested positive, they would not be able to travel to Japan for games in the Nations League, which continues on 5 July.
Whether the German Confederation will appeal the decision is not yet clear.
