China supports Kazakhstan joining the BRICS countries, says the Chinese president Xi Jinping.
The BRICS countries are originally an alliance formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, which has since been joined by other countries.
China and Kazakhstan also plan to double bilateral trade.
President Xi will attend the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The President of Russia is also present Vladimir Putin.
