China has now launched ship tracking satellites with remote sensing!

According to the news of Xinhua agency, HEAD-3 A, B, C, D and E satellites were launched by Kuaycou-1A rocket from Xichang Satellite Center in Sichuan province.

The satellites landed in the planned orbital position after launch.

MISSION 28

The launch was the 28th successful transport mission with the Kuaycou-1A.

HEAD satellites, developed by HEAD Aerospace, headquartered in Beijing, and produced by Shanghai Space Flight Technology Academy (SAST), can detect ships’ Automatic Identification Signals (AIS) and transmit location and navigational tracking information.

The micro-sized satellites are planned to form part of the constellation network “Skywalker”, which consists of 48 parts. (News source: AA)
