China, exports rise in May. Better than expected

(Finance) – In May exports of China grew by 7.6%, compared to the same month in 2023, exceeding analysts’ expectations of 6% growth. The imports instead they rose by 1.8%, less than the +4.2% estimated by the consensus.

In April, China’s exports advanced 1.5% year-on-year, while imports jumped 8.4%.

For the first five months of 2024, China’s dollar-denominated exports rose 2.7%, while imports rose 2.9%.
