1800 square meters, climbing platforms, ropes and above all, lots of greenery. The chimpanzees have made good progress. They have three times more space than in the old residence. And above all, more space to climb. It was a long process, says head of animal care Willem Verdonck, who remembers that it was first discussed ten years ago. “When I look at what it has become, we can be very proud of each other,” says Verdonck.
