29 FIRE IS FIGHTING
Minister of Internal Affairs Carolina Toha noted that firefighters took approximately 40 fires under control and continued to fight 29 forest fires.
Chilean authorities shared the information that the scope of the state of emergency (OHAL) in some regions most affected by the fires was expanded.
In the news published in the Chilean press, it was stated that a fire broke out in Penuelas Lake Natural Park, approximately 20 kilometers from the city of Valparaiso.
In the statement made by the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred), it was announced that the fire spread rapidly due to the strong wind and evacuation procedures were initiated in some towns.
