The Children’s Treatment Center of Chatham-Kent has been recognized for going beyond the basic standards in delivering its services.
The facility was accredited with commendation following the completion of its accreditation survey. Receiving commendation means the organization exceeded the fundamental requirements of the program.
The treatment center participated in Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum accreditation program over three days in November 2021. The organization takes part in the survey every four years and is assessed on governance, leadership, infection prevention and control and care provision practices
Donna Litwin-Makey, executive director of the treatment centre, said the commendation validates the level of service staff strive for every day
“The past two years have been exceptionally challenging for our staff and clients to include both virtual and in person services, while always maintaining safety and quality care,” she said in a news release. “I am proud of the high level of service our staff continues to be able to provide to our community.”
Litwin-Makey thanked the families, staff, community partners and surveyors that spent time at the center or attended virtual focus groups and meetings.
