    Children killed in attack on school building in Gaza

    Eight people have been killed in an Israeli attack on a school building in Gaza that served as a shelter, Hamastrogna health authorities said.

    The attack took place on Saturday in Jabalia in northern Gaza against the Halwa school. Among the dead are two children and two women. A further 30 people are said to have been injured, including 19 children.

    The school building is said to have housed “thousands of displaced people”.

    Israel confirms it carried out the attack and says it was aimed at Hamas fighters.

    At the same time, Israel announces that four soldiers have been killed in northern Gaza.

    Ukraine says it has captured two North Korean soldiers in the Russian border region of Kursk. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announces this on X.

    Zelensky writes that the two soldiers are injured and have been transported to Kiev “where they are now communicating with the security services of Ukraine” and are receiving the necessary care.

    Furthermore, the president writes that this has not been an easy task and claims that Russian forces and the North Korean military “usually execute their wounded to erase all evidence of North Korea’s involvement in the war against Ukraine.”

    According to previous estimates, North Korea has sent over 10,000 troops to support Russia’s offensive war.
