Children at LSS accommodation have died after falling from a bus in Järna

It was at the beginning of August that two children at an LSS residence in Järna went on an excursion in a bus, something the children were used to doing. This appears in an IVO report that SVT has seen.

After a while, one of the children starts to get worried, unbuckles his seat belt and changes his seat on the bus. The driver then turns off the country road to get to a safe place to stop.

Once there, the driver brakes the bus. But before it has had time to come to a complete stop, the driver hears a door open, and experiences the child getting off the bus and tripping on the asphalt. The speed must then have been approximately 15 kilometers per hour.

The driver calls 112 and performs CPR before the ambulance helicopter arrives at the scene. When the report is written, it appears that the child received a serious head injury, but must have later died from his injuries, reports LT.

Will child lock the door

In the IVO notification, it appears that the driver has a routine of childproofing the doors. Why the door could be opened at this moment is not clear.

SVT has been in contact with those responsible at the LSS accommodation who do not currently wish to comment on the incident.
