The proposal is that social media, games and streaming services should stop working for children after 11pm on weekdays. – The starting point is that children should sleep at night and go to school during the day, says party leader Johan Pehrson to Ekot. Similar proposals have been pushed through in France and the US state of Utah. According to Pehrson, an expert group needs to look at how it should work technically and what age limit should apply. But Elza Dunkels, who is an internet researcher at Umeå University, is critical of the child lock. – Is this really a huge problem. Isn’t it the case that the adults have other methods to deal with the use, she says.
