Chicken Plow Mein early favorite in contest to name snowplows in Chatham-Kent

The annual tradition of naming the Municipality of Chatham’s fleet of snowplows has returned.

This year promises to be one of the most exciting yet with more than 175 creative names flooding in from the community, “each one a testament to the wit and imagination of residents,” said municipal officials in a media release.

The whittled down list from which to choose include: Chicken Plow Mein, which has the most votes so far, along with Taylor Drift, Skip the Ditches and the Big LePlowski.

“Every year, I’m pleasantly surprised by the incredible creativity our community unleashes when it comes to naming our snowplows,” said Mayor Darrin Canniff in the release. “It’s heartwarming to see everyone participate in this fun and unique tradition.”

Sponsored for the third year by Winmar, the naming initiative has become a cherished tradition, bringing the community together in a lighthearted celebration of winter, said municipal officials.
