Damascus promises to cooperate with the organization for the ban on chemical weapons. The Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs was Wednesday March 5 at the Headquarters of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OIAC), based in Haye, Nobel Prize 2013 for having enabled the destruction of 1,300 tonnes of Syrian chemical precursor. Damascus had joined the organization in October 2013, to avoid Western intervention, following two chemical attacks in Ghouta, close to Damascus. Moscow and Washington had managed to convince the Assad regime to destroy its arsenal.
