Chelsea have not won a football match since January 15th. In fact, a single goal has been scored since then.
It can therefore be stated that Graham Potter is a man under pressure.
Having said that, the London club had a golden opportunity – at home at Stamford Bridge against table giants Southampton in the Premier League.
But it was just the opposite.
The away team took the lead in the first half. Free kick king James Ward-Prowse screwed the ball there from just over 25 metres.
In the second half, Chelsea pushed hard for an equaliser, but Southampton resisted and won the match with the odd goal.
And if the loss wasn’t enough, team captain César Azpilicueta also suffered a terrible injury. The Spaniard got a foot in the head and collapsed badly. With the help of a stretcher and oxygen, Azpilicueta was able to leave the field to a standing ovation.
